Terms and Conditions

Last updated: Jan 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Deja Vu Restoration. By commissioning work from me, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. I provide furniture restoration, repair and bespoke cabinet-making services with care, integrity and professionalism.

2. Quotes and pricing

  • All quotes are free and valid for 30 days.

  • Quotes are based on the information available at the time. If additional issues are discovered once work begins, I will contact you to discuss the implications and, where relevant, agree an updated estimate before proceeding.

  • Prices are given in GBP and include labour, materials and transport if agreed.

3. Deposits and payments

  • A deposit of 25% may be required for bespoke projects or restoration involving significant materials.

  • The remaining balance is due upon completion, before collection or delivery.

  • Payment may be made by bank transfer or another pre-agreed method.

4. Scope of work

  • All work is carried out with respect for your piece’s history, structure and materials.

  • Restoration focuses on stabilising, repairing and enhancing your item while preserving its character.

  • When a project requires skills outside my expertise (e.g. upholstery, gilding, metalwork), I may involve a trusted specialist.

5. Materials and finishes

  • Natural materials - especially wood - may behave unpredictably due to age, grain or previous finishes.

  • While I strive to achieve the best possible result, final colours or finishes may vary slightly from samples or expectations.

6. Timelines

  • Completion dates are estimated in good faith, but can vary due to complexity, drying times, or unforeseen issues.

  • I will keep you informed if the timeline needs adjusting.

7. Transport of items

  • Clients are responsible for arranging delivery and collection unless we agree otherwise.

8. Liability

While every effort is made to protect your item, I cannot be held liable for:

  • pre-existing or hidden damage

  • structural weaknesses that become apparent during work

  • natural movement or behaviour of antique materials

Any concerns must be raised within 7 days of receiving the item.

9. Cancellation

  • For bespoke pieces or work that has already begun, deposits are non-refundable.

  • For restoration work not yet started, you may cancel without charge.

10. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
